This policy explains what personal data myLinuxBSD collects through this website, the mylinuxbsdOS download portal and our support tools, why, who sees it, and what choices you have. It should be read with our PDPA Notice (English and Bahasa Malaysia) and our Terms.

1. Who we are

The data user (controller) is myLinuxBSD Sdn. Bhd., Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Contact: [email protected].

2. What we collect, and why

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers on this site, and we do not sell personal data.

3. Server logs

Our web server records each request (IP address, time, page, browser). We use these logs for security, to spot abuse and to see which pages and search engines bring visitors. They are visible only to administrators.

4. Cookies and browser storage

Login cookie - set only if you sign in; it is strictly necessary, HTTP-only and keeps you signed in for a limited time.
Session storage - your browser keeps a copy of your signed-in profile for the current tab only.
Local storage - the mylinuxbsdOS download form remembers the email and name you typed, on your device only, so you don’t need to retype them. Clear your browser data to remove it.

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Chat assistant

Replies in the chat widget are drafted automatically by an AI language model that runs on our own server; your messages are not sent to third-party AI services. Chat messages are stored so our team can follow up. Do not put passwords or other secrets in the chat.

6. Who else sees your data

Cloudflare passes web traffic to our server and may process visitors’ IP addresses to protect and deliver the site.
Google serves the web fonts used on our pages and the map on the Contact page, so your browser contacts Google when those load. If you choose Google sign-in, Google also processes that login.
GitHub processes your login if you choose GitHub sign-in, and hosts the public mylinuxbsdOS tracker (anything you post there is public and governed by GitHub’s terms).
Our hosting provider stores the data on the virtual server we rent.
Freelancers we match to your project see the project details you submitted.
Authorities, where the law requires it.

We share personal data only for the purposes above and only with those who need it.

7. Where data is stored

Our systems are hosted on a virtual private server that may be located outside Malaysia, and our providers above operate internationally. By using the site you understand your data may be processed outside Malaysia; we take reasonable steps to protect it wherever it is.

8. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, rate limiting, hashed download tokens and restricted administrator access, and we keep the software up to date. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach that affects you occurs, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

9. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, and then delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (section 10).

10. Your choices and rights

Under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask us to give you access to your personal data, correct it, limit how it is used, and withdraw your consent (for example to release announcements - every announcement email will tell you how to unsubscribe). Email [email protected] from the address in question; we may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commissioner of Malaysia.

11. Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; material changes will be highlighted on this page.
