Privacy Policy PDPA Notice Terms

These terms cover your use of the myLinuxBSD website and of the mylinuxbsdOS software and download portal. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. Who we are

The website and mylinuxbsdOS are provided by myLinuxBSD Sdn. Bhd., Cyberjaya, Malaysia (“myLinuxBSD”, “we”). Contact: [email protected]. Paid services such as consulting, quotes and the freelancer marketplace are governed by separate written agreements or proposals.

2. mylinuxbsdOS

mylinuxbsdOS is a Linux distribution assembled from Debian packages, packages from the LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Edition) repository and some third-party applications. Each component remains under its own licence; the licence for a packaged program is in /usr/share/doc/<package>/copyright on an installed system. Nothing in these terms changes those licences, and we do not claim ownership of other people’s software.

You may download and use mylinuxbsdOS free of charge for your own purposes. Before redistributing the ISO or a derivative, check the licences of the components it contains, including the proprietary ones (see Licences); contact us if you have questions.

3. No warranty

mylinuxbsdOS and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or compatibility with your hardware. Installing an operating system can erase data.

  • Back up your data before installing. The installer’s “Erase disk” option removes everything on the chosen disk.
  • A forgotten disk-encryption passphrase cannot be recovered.
  • The default account’s password is published; change it on first login.
  • You are responsible for verifying downloads with the published checksum and for how you use the system.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, myLinuxBSD is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or business, arising from your use of mylinuxbsdOS or the website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the site or downloads to break the law, to attack or overload our systems, to bypass rate limits or access controls, or to submit false or another person’s personal data. We may limit or block access that harms the service.

6. Download links and accounts

Download links from the email form are personal to you and expire. We may change, withdraw or archive any version at any time. Your use of the form is subject to our Privacy Policy and PDPA Notice.

7. Feedback and public content

Bug reports and suggestions you send us may be used to improve the software and documentation without payment or obligation. Anything you post in the public issue tracker on GitHub is public and also subject to GitHub’s terms.

8. Trademarks

“myLinuxBSD”, “mylinuxbsdOS” and their logos belong to myLinuxBSD Sdn. Bhd. Debian, Linux Mint, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and other names belong to their owners; mylinuxbsdOS is not an official product of, or endorsed by, any of them.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes are subject to the courts of Malaysia.
